Boogie Nights Is A Perfect Horny Boy Family Movie | CineFix Top 100
Переглядів 15 тис.21 день тому
“I am a star. I’m a star. I’m a big, bright shining star. That’s right.” (re-zips his pants) Boogie Nights was only Paul Thomas Anderson’s second film, but the story of an up-and-coming star in the waning days of the porn industry on film is exceedingly confident especially for a director in his 20s. Clint, Cal and Alex talk about the stacked cast that might be the best ensemble ever assembled,...
Jaws Might Be The Luckiest Mistake In Movie History | CineFix Top 100

“You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” Jaws was legitimate phenomenon in the 70s, launching both the career of Steven Spielberg and the concept of the summer blockbuster to the forefront of the Hollywood system. For this story about an island being terrorized by a rogue Great White, Clint, Cal and Alex talk about Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw as maybe the best ever top 3 in a cast,...
The Warriors Is Sweaty, Grainy, Dirty and Awesome | CineFix Top 100

“Warriors… come out and play-ayyyyy…” The Warriors dropped in 1979 during an age of New York City that was about to change. Walter Hill’s film about a gang being hunted across the city as they try to make it home is a portrait of the politics of gang society. Clint, Cal and Alex talk about 70s fight scene choreography, expert camera blocking and just how many guys it takes to be wearing vests w...

La Haine Is Tough Guy Posturing At Its Finest | CineFix Top 100
Переглядів 11 тис.Місяць тому
“So far, so good. So far, so good…” On one hand, La Haine is a grab bag of every filmmaking trick that was cool in the 90s. On the other hand, it’s a scathing look at systemic violence that’s as relevant as ever even 30 year later. The story of three guys outside of Paris grappling with the aftermath of a riot in which police officers put one of their friends in a coma, La Haine is a tough but ...
Hot Fuzz Is A Buddy Cop Love Story | CineFix Top 100
Переглядів 19 тис.Місяць тому
“Have you ever fired two guns whilst jumping through the air?” Hot Fuzz, the second chapter in Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s ‘Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy,’ takes the piss out of buddy cop movies in the most loving way possible. The story of a cop who’s too good for his own good transferring to a small town in the country and uncovering a gruesomely violent plot, lampoons its action influence...
Princess Mononoke Is Beautiful, But Does It Have Rizz? | CineFix Top 100

“You cannot change your fate. However, you can rise to meet it, if you so choose.” Hayao Miyazaki dropped one of his several masterpieces in 1997 with Princess Mononoke. Depicting the battle between Iron Town and ancient Gods of the forest, the film is a gorgeously animated adventure that paints it’s themes vividly front and center. Clint, Cal and Alex talk about where it fits in Miyazaki’s bod...
Being There Is Cinema’s Greatest Rorschach Test | CineFix Top 100

“I like to watch.” From director Hal Ashby, Being There is wildly intelligent movie about an incredibly unintelligent man. Peter Sellers stars with Shirley MacLaine in a story about a simple-minded gardener and the power brokers who seem to think he’s a genius. Clint, Cal and Alex talk about the power of projecting only what we want to see, how films can become eternally relevant and who has th...

“I’ve never seen that. I’ve never seen anybody drive their garbage down to the street and bang the hell out of it with a stick.” Joe Dante’s first collaboration with Tom Hanks started as a send-up of Rear Window before it morphed into a genre-bending, dark comedy in The ‘Burbs. Coming after Joe Dante’s Academy Award winning Innerspace and Tom Hank’s first Best Actor nomination for Big, The ‘Bur...
Top 10 International Feature Oscar Winners of All Time

It’s important to remember that the Oscars are both an American AND a global phenomenon. For almost 100 years the Academy has made space to award a Foreign-Language film, so, of course, that means we here at CineFix are overdue to do the same. So here, in an order that’s even more meaningless than usual because we’re doing it chronologically, are our picks for the 10 Best International Feature ...
Rear Window Is Hitchcock’s Most Technically Impressive Film | CineFix Top 100
Переглядів 16 тис.2 місяці тому
Bring your hot takes somewhere else, Rear Window is S-Tier Hitchcock. Made and released between other Grace Kelly classics Dial M for Murder, and To Catch a Thief, Rear Window’s strength lies in Hitchcock’s ability to make us willing accomplices in Jimmy Stewart’s spying on his neighbors by leaning so hard on his POV and ratcheting up the tension of being stuck in one place. Clint, Cal and Alex...

I promise you I've never seen this clip in my life. What would that mean to you?
☯️🌏🕵🏻♂️👣🌌
Hace 10 años 🥹
I was too young to see this when it came out. It was at the age of 21 when I saw it in a theater for the first time, and it wrecked me. I could not believe that such a film would win the Oscar for best picture. It is the best buddy looser film.
I wish you had mentioned thu turbo interceptor from The Wraith
2024 anyone? 👇
Damn its been a while...
Yoo i just saw this video it makes me wana make a costume bro
Dale the worst??
Why is Alex constantly hidden behind the microphone! Cannot see her face, see what she is saying. Y'all need to fix her positioning and/or microphone.
I love how the people that are at the top of their field, totally downplay their achievements and instead love something that inspired them to do what they do

Young Richie in 2017 IT is the older brother in Ghostbusters Afterlife and Ghostbuster Frozen Empire I forgot the older brothers name
Welcome to jurassic park
You are the best 😎
you are so wrong about the time it took gandalf to find out about the ring. he obviously talked to butterbur about it and told him about Underhill. Butterbur mentioned that he hasn't seen Gandalf in 6 months.
This is an amazing re-creation of the trailer but the movie suck don’t watch it
This way better than the original.
Craig's Bond story is just beatiful. (Still, my favorite Bond is Brosnan)
A real shame not to have him pick a shot from Bright Star, Let Me In and Killing Them Softly. Some of his best work is in those films.
The Batman sequel is gunna be incredible.
" " - Charles Chaplin
Would this, hypothetically work for morph suits?
"Good, Bad... I'm The Guy With The Gun" Ash Williams
7 years ago is crazy
I just recently finished reading the novel, and it was an insane read. It’s really jarring just how depraved and maddening the relationship between Johannes and Elsa is in the book, and it holds nothing back. Still a worthwhile read if you can stomach it, though.
The series is objectively better than the book
Still one of best 1990s series . It's shame that no one of casts won a Emmy.
Oh, i quire like a midnight gobble
I never knew Danika did this.
The Vader scene might seem kind of an obvious choice, but it's weirdly vindicating to hear the cinematographer himself say "yeah that scene is technically as impressive as it is just simply cool"
The girl in the thumbnail is familiar.
2024 anyone missing these days🥹
I agree, I liked Interstellar.
6:53 thats not harry osborn thats bully maguire
Please do more of What makes this songs great !! 🔥
The bus scene in Remains of the Day shoud've been mentioned
I like Gregory Peck as well in Moby Dick
Choosing reservoir dogs over pulp fiction is a lil crazy to me
Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great cinematographer But I wasn't much into his work in THE BATMAN
Godzilla 2014 movie homemade
Everyone says super man is strong then batman so I'm being batman
Moore is just too dark and ambivalent to me. I want a story where I can generally see a moral through line and sympathize. But that's just me, so in terms of a more objective answer, I couldn't say which is "better."
Leeloo Dallas's MultiPass!
The Running Man wouldn't of been successful without Arnolds Accent and Mustles
i was surprised he picked that prison scene from the batman out of all the amazing shots he had to choose from, but after hearing his explanation for it i understand where he’s coming from. the use of light in that scene and how the characters are effectively shrouded in it is done masterfully. i like how he mentioned the difference between that scene vs other ones in the prison as well. very cool to hear his perception on different scenes in the same building.
Funny because all these scenes he was in are actually my favorite
Cal, what the hell is your problem? If this isn't a movie you're interested in watching then don't watch it. Why waste our time and yours by doing no justice to the film and admitting you don't care enough to pay attention? The big casualty of that decision isn't the film, its your reputation as a reviewer and the channel's reputation for quality film analysis that takes the hit. I'm extremely disappointed in a channel that I usually hold in high regard. I almost didn't want to comment because I know that it boosts engagement metrics, which is the main measure of success in this field, but I felt the need to because I think it's going to be offset by me watching, liking, and commenting on less videos now that I feel the quality of what I'd get is in doubt.
Just checking the comments looking for someone to mention SAMWISE GAMGEE
One of the greatest movies for representing an movement and era. It's the "On the Road" of the 1960s.
